Children's Grand Park

Our most recent field trip was to Children's Grand Park. In honor of heading to the Zoo, I made sure to wear my animal print shoes. You never know when you're going to have to out run a Cheetah!

We saw all sorts of animals, but I have no awesome photos to show you (yet). Some of my favorites were the elephants, sloths, monkeys, and kangaroos. I really wanted to bring the baby kangaroo home with me. I took thousands of mental photos, but unfortunately no real ones. My camera broke a week or so ago, and I have been mourning it's death ever since. However, I did get some photos sent to me from my co-teacher. We also have a photographer that goes on our field trips with us, so I will update with more photos later on. Enjoy these for now! :)

These three girls sure can hold their own in a class full of eight boys.

The boys practicing their "Gangnam Style" dance moves.

Lookin' good guys!

Trying to get eleven six year olds in one line for a class photo is nearly impossible. It wasn't easy getting these four together for this shot, in which none of them were even paying attention for the first one. What can I say, that waterfall in the backround was a way more awesome thing to see anyway.

By the end of lunchtime, they were officially worn out:

Mission accomplished :)

Postcrossing

A while back I wrote about Postcrossing, a postcard swapping hobby I had started participating in. In the past 4 months, I have sent and received almost 20 postcards back and forth. On my day off last week, I decided to make a little book of postcards to keep them all together.

Here is the end product.

Silly Hat Day

A day full of silly. I am going to miss these kids so much, but I will be full of memories like this day to last me for quite some time. Silly Hat Day is exactly what it sounds like, a day full of silly hats. Mine was made of an old headband, random pieces of paper, bows, silly stickers, and Q-tips. Oh, and post-it notes!

So Silly.

Coloring Books

My class loves to color. Who doesn't, right? Since they are constantly drawing pictures and scribbling all over every piece of paper they are given, I decided to make them a specific coloring book for the sole purpose of doing just that -- coloring. I found this awesome website that turns photos into coloring pages, and ta-da, my coloring books were in the works. I tried many different photos, since some ended up looking better than others.  I also tried to get at least one of each child. Then, I compiled all the pages into a book for each child to keep in their cubby and pull out whenever they have extra time. I think they are going to have so much fun coloring eachother like cartoon characters.

Here are some of my favorite pages.

I can't wait to see how each child colors their coloring book. I will make sure to post some more photos of the outcome. I'm so excited to give them their coloring books tomorrow!

"Adults are always asking little kids what they want to be when they grow up...

... because they are looking for ideas."

Forever young. :)

UPDATE: Here are photos of my kids coloring
their coloring books. They loved them, by the way.
Totally made my day seeing the smiles on their faces.
