Konnichiwa 2012

I couldn't have ended 2011 and brought in the new year in a better place, or with better people. After only a month of living in Korea, I was off on my first vacay to Tokyo, Japan. I had the whole week off work, and Jeremy and I left from Incheon on Tuesday for Tokyo - where we would meet up with Maggie and Spencer. We made some time calculations incorrectly, and ended up arriving to the airport much later than expected. After a stressful 20 minutes rushing around different lines, desks, and checkpoints, we finally made it through security with the pilots and flight attendants and we're placed in Business Class with a smooth 10 minutes before take-off. We reclined in our spacious seats, and enjoyed movies on giant flat screens for the short hour and a half flight. If only we could always fly this way. The next 5 days were full of exploring hidden side streets, wandering through temples, attempting to communicate in Japanese, eating delicious foods, making new friends, and all around having a great vacation. The whole trip ended with a bang (literally). A 7.0 magnitude earthquake shook our little apartment in Ebisu as we relaxed before heading to the airport for our flight home. Thank you for keeping it interesting, Japan! Until we meet again...
